Lola Loves It: Fall/Winter 2019-20 Trends
This post has been slightly prolonged. The first day of fall was September 23rd, but with days like these, still hitting in 80 degrees, it feels more like an extension of summer, and I’m enjoying it while it lasts. Fall, with no shade to winter, is still my favorite season. I look forward to the season of change in all forms - spiritually, mentally, financially, and climatically of course. There are so many exciting trends breaking through from the runway to the streets. In this post, I will share with you my top three favorite trends for the season.
Leather on leather
One of my favorite things about fall/winter is that the weather is cold enough for me to wear my leather jackets. In my opinion, a leather jacket is the number one wardrobe staple for fall. I’m so excited that leather is being further celebrated than only just leather jackets. This year you can expect to see leather everything, from leather dresses and jumpsuits to leather skirts and full leather suits. There has always been something about leather that I love. No matter which way you choose to wear it. It tells a statement of edge, confidence, and straight badassness. Don’t be afraid to take your leather pieces to the next level this season. It’s not too much to pair your favorite leather jacket and pants. You can still wear your trendy leather booties with your new leather jumpsuit. Have fun with it and own your look.
PAJAMA COUTURE
In the summer, silky slip dresses were a favorite for me. I couldn’t get enough of that simple sexy look, and the feel of the softness of the material. It was the perfect outfit for a summer date night or even for a Sunday brunch party with the girls. The slip dress was the beginning of sleepwear to street wear.
Now that fall is here, I’m glad we are expanding on this romantic trend. As usual, you will see a lot of layering. Summer slip dresses will now be accompanied with matching robes or turtlenecks. Button silk blouses will be paired with coordinating silk pants- very reminiscent to the matching pajama sets that we never really care to wear. Well, at least I don’t. It’s interesting that I’d rather wear this look outside than to go to sleep. I’ve always liked the idea of co-ord sets and matching prints. Wear pajamas, but make it fashions, I guess.
These pajama looks give a sensual elegance. The way the material melts to your body, and still gives full comfort. You will still feel your absolute best rocking this anywhere from date night to boozy brunch in the colder seasons.
Jumpsuits
Jumpsuits are huge for this season, and the options have continued to evolve over the recent years. Previously, if you were looking to wear a jumpsuit, the selection was very slim. Usually, the most popular would be a sexy black catsuit that only seemed fitting for a night out or a black, sometimes navy, wide-leg jumpsuit that someone would opt to wear if they didn’t want to wear a gown to a formal event.
Gratefully, today you can find a jumpsuit in any style, fit, print, or material. For example, the boiler suit has become a trending choice with its utility fit and staple pockets. Jumpsuits are such such an easy look to pull off because it is essentially the main focus of the outfit. The way you wear it and the way you choose to accessorize is what makes it your own.
This season, in both life and style, let go of anything that has has become ill-fitting and out-dated. Make room for change, step out of your comfort zone, and try something new. Seek for new ideas, new opportunities, and evolution.
